What is NAS Exam 2024
National Educational Survey NAS Exam 2024 will be conducted by the Ministry of Education and NCERT to test the level of mathematics and language subjects.
National Achievement Survey (NAS) 2024 will take place on December 4, 2024, and aims to evaluate how well school students in India are learning. This year’s survey will assess around five million students from Classes 3, 6, and 9, an increase from the 3.7 million students assessed in the last survey in 2021.
The responsibility of the survey has been handed over to national evaluation agency associated with NCERT (Parakh). National Educational Survey (NAS) 2024 will be conducted in collaboration with State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) of all the states of the country.
Objective of the NAS Exam 2024
The objective of the National Educational Achievement Survey (NAS) will be to know the level of mathematics and language subjects. Through achievement survey,
the aim is to identify those areas of education where improvement is needed. Possibilities of improving the education system of the states will be explored.
NAS Exam 2024 aims to assess the progress and learning efficiency of children as an indicator of the effectiveness of the education system to carry out the required remedial activities at different levels.
survey will examine the health of the education system at the state level. The survey covers a wide range of competencies covering the foundational, elementary and middle stages of education.
On the basis of the survey, the learning ability of the students can be identified. New programs will also be prepared as per their needs.
Assessment Methodology of NAS 2024
To keep the process fair, random sampling will be used to select which schools and students will participate. Each grade level will have its own set of questions designed to test different skills:
Grade 3 : Students will answer 45 MCQs in Language, Maths, and Environmental Science, with 90 Minutes to complete the test.
Grade 6 : Students will answer 51 MCQs, testing similar subjects but with more challenging questions.
Grade 9 : Students will face 60 MCQs, covering material from Classes 6 to 8, with 120 minutes to finish the test
